Langley RCMP is seeking the assistance of the public with their investigation of a robbery in Walnut Grove over the weekend.
On Saturday, August 25th at approximately 12:40 p.m. police received reports that a robbery had just occurred in Buy-Low Foods. Witnesses advised that two males armed with firearms entered the store and robbed the store of cash and lottery tickets.
The suspects wore masks so very few descriptors are available to assist with identification other than to say they were smaller in stature
During the robbery, one of the employees was hit on the side of the head with the firearm and required treatment by BC Ambulance Service.
Witnesses were able to provide a description (a blue Dodge Caravan) and license plate for the suspect vehicle which was located nearby, unoccupied within ten minutes of the robbery. The van was found to have been stolen from a church in North Langley earlier that morning.
Specifically, the van was located in the Save on Foods Parking Lot near the Dry Cleaners. Police hope to locate witnesses who observed the suspects ‘dumping’ the van at that location and provide insight into how they left and where they went from there.
Langley Serious Crime has assumed conduct of the investigation and Lower Mainland Forensic Services thoroughly searched the suspect vehicle for physical evidence.
