On August 14, 2012 at 12:35 a.m. the Richmond RCMP responded to a 911 call in the 8700 block of Ackroyd Road to assist BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) with an injured male.
Richmond RCMP attended the location and located an unresponsive male who appeared to be suffering from wounds consistent with an edged weapon.
Richmond Fire Department and BC Ambulance Service also attended the location and attempts to revive the victim were unsuccessful. The victim, a 38 year old Richmond resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Although the cause of death will have to be confirmed through an autopsy it appears the male met with foul play and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken conduct. IHIT will be at the scene for the duration of the day speaking with witnesses and processing evidence.
A 35 year old female, believed to be the victim’s wife, has been arrested.
This death appears to be in connection to a domestic incident. The details surrounding the incident are unclear at this point. Investigators will be working throughout the day to narrow in on a motive and obtain details on the events leading up to this homicide. says Sgt. Jennifer Pound.
Further updates will be provided as they become available.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is asking anyone who may have information about this homicide, to come forward and speak with investigators.
